The evening was a great success and thanks must be passed to all involved in setting up the evening.

There was plenty to eat and drink and thankfully the rain held off allowing a very pleasant evening to be enjoyed by all.

As usual the overall standard of plots was deemed to be generally high and the judges were impressed at the standard, particularly given the overly wet and generally cold start to the year.

Several awards were presented this year including a new Pete Leadbeater award in his memory and one for our younger allotmenteers aimed at encouraging the next generation into the world of grow your own.

First Prize & Best Plot

Jane Roberts

Second Prize

David Biles

Third Prize

Ralph Pursell.

His Grandson must be a chip off the old block as he won the Best Junior Prize.

Best Five Pole Plot

Nigel Farrar.

Our new award, The Peter Leadbeater Shield- for the "Most Inspiring Plot" went to Jacqui Glover.

The Best Novice Prize went to David Savage - who appears to have been camera shy on the day!

The excellent barbecued fare provided by Paul Hamer and Tim Kirkland was a welcome addition to the proceedings.
